The Power Forty kept their hopes of advancing directly to the semifinals alive after defeating the Talisay Basketball Association (TBA), 99-77, in the Power 60 Friendship Cup basketball tournament on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Pardo Sports Complex in Poblacion Pardo, Cebu City.
Standings Update
With the victory, Power Forty improved to a 3-2 record, tying for second place in the standings with the Pardo Ball Club (PBC) and Lagtang Basketball Gold (LBG). This three-way tie occurred after PBC lost to league leader Mandaue Ball Club, 84-66, in another game.
Mandaue Ball Club finished the elimination round with a perfect 6-0 record in the seven-team tournament, which is exclusively for senior citizens. Under tournament rules, the top two teams after the elimination round advance directly to the semifinals, while the next four teams will compete for the remaining two semifinal spots. Currently, only MBC has secured a semifinal berth.
