4 arrested, P13.9M shabu seized in Zamboanga Sibugay

Law enforcement authorities in Zamboanga Sibugay arrested four individuals, including a woman, and confiscated approximately P13.9 million worth of illegal drugs and a pistol in two separate operations conducted on June 30, 2026, the police reported on Wednesday, July 1.

Buy-bust operation nets P13.6 million shabu

The Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office (ZSPPO) stated that three suspects were apprehended in a buy-bust operation around 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday in Lower Tungawan village, Tungawan. The suspects were identified as alias Romer, 31; alias Joseph, 41; and alias Farhana, 46, all residents of Zamboanga City.

Seized from the trio were two kilograms of shabu packed in 11 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets valued at P13.6 million, along with 17 bundles of boodle money topped with one genuine P1,000 marked bill, a mobile phone, a backpack, a paper bag, and a plastic bag.

Search warrant leads to additional seizure

In a separate operation, police arrested an adult male during the implementation of search warrants around 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday in La Paz village, Alicia. The warrants were issued for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Authorities confiscated approximately 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000, a caliber .45 pistol with ammunition, a sling bag, and a coin purse from the suspect.

All four arrested individuals are currently detained and await the filing of appropriate charges, according to the ZSPPO.
