International and National Accolades Recognize Apex Mining's Growth
In the first quarter of 2026, Apex Mining received multiple prestigious awards for its dedication to responsible mining practices, significant growth, and overall performance. The company was listed among the 2026 Financial Times-Statista Asia-Pacific's High-Growth Companies, achieving an impressive absolute growth rate of 104.34% and a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 26.90%, making it one of only three awardees in the Metals and Mining category.
Additionally, Apex Mining was named the Philippines' Growth Champion for 2026 by the Philippine Daily Inquirer and Statista, recognized for its consistent revenue growth from 2021 to 2024. It also stood out as the sole mining firm in the Philippines included in TIME Asia-Pacific's Best Companies for 2026. These honors underscore the company's core value of excellence, driven by its high-performing team and strategic initiatives.
Partnership with European Chamber of Commerce Advances Sustainability
Apex Mining has become the advocacy partner of the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), marking its entry as the first-ever mining industry member of the chamber. During a Memorandum of Understanding signing on February 19, 2026, at the Apex Mining head office, the parties agreed to collaborate on advancing responsible and science-based sustainability efforts.
The Mine Environmental Protection and Enhancement Office (MEPEO) of Apex Mining is leading this partnership. Employees from the head office participated in events like the Run for Climate Action, supporting ECCP's Race to Net Zero initiative to promote environmental awareness and action.
Strengthening the National Greening Program and Community Outreach
The MEPEO department at Apex Mining continues to bolster its support for the government's National Greening Program (NGP), a flagship project aimed at enhancing environmental health and providing long-term benefits to communities. Currently, the company has adopted three barangays—Elizalde, Panoraon, and Libay-libay—where it has assisted through tree-planting initiatives that improve both the environment and local livelihoods.
Recently, MEPEO expanded its coverage by including Barangay Tagbaros, introducing the NGP to the Tagbaros Integrated Farmers Association during an orientation held on March 14, 2026. The project focuses on promoting sustainable livelihoods and environmental protection by donating various seedlings of fruit-bearing and forest trees to adopted barangays. To date, the MEPEO Department has distributed a total of 32,500 seedlings, contributing to reforestation efforts, community strengthening, and the establishment of a sustainable ecology in its area of responsibility.
Through strong collaboration between MEPEO and the adopted communities, there is great hope for continued environmental and livelihood progress in the locality. The inclusion of new communities like Tagbaros demonstrates a unified effort among people to protect the planet, fostering a greener, more resilient, and peaceful future as each seedling grows.
Technical Training Program Empowers Scholars and Supports Sustainable Development
Apex Mining, in partnership with TESDA, offers a comprehensive technical program that includes Driving NC II, Shotcrete Operations, and Mixcrete Operations. In its second year, this program trained 25 personnel, equipping them with the skills needed to begin their professional careers. Through the Apex Community Technological Training and Assessment Center Inc. (ACTTACI), the second batch of scholars graduated on January 22, 2026, and all are now employed in the Mine Division of Apex Mining.
This initiative reflects the company's commitment to supporting Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Sustainable Development Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), aligning with national objectives for sustainable development.
Additional Community and Cultural Initiatives
Beyond environmental and educational efforts, Apex Mining's Community Relations Department participated in the Syara Festival in Barangay Tagbaros on January 14, 2025, nurturing cultural heritage. The company also demonstrated compassion beyond borders by supporting Tebow CURE's Night to Shine activity, with the ComRel department providing Php 200,000.00 in financial aid on February 13, 2026, at the Davao Convention in Davao City.
In a Chika Mina episode titled "From Seed to Success," Apex Mining discussed its livelihood initiatives, ranging from coffee and cacao development to community trainings, facilities, and biodiversity enterprises, highlighting its holistic approach to building a sustainable future for communities.
