A 36-year-old man was unable to return home after encountering police foot patrol officers who seized a packet of suspected shabu from his pocket during the launched "Oplan Bulabog" in Sitio Puntod, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City.
The seizure of the illegal drugs occurred at 10:55 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. The suspect was identified as Bernan Fil Mora Cañaliso, a resident of Sitio Nangka Ville, Barangay Quiot.
Confiscated from the suspect was one large package of suspected shabu weighing 50 grams, with a standard drug price of P340,000.
Based on initial investigation, while members of the Mambaling Police Station were conducting patrols under the leadership of their deputy chief, Police Lieutenant Jay Ramos, they encountered the suspect walking from the inner part of Sitio Puntod.
The police became suspicious after noticing that the suspect suddenly turned pale upon seeing them. It was then that they discovered the large package of suspected shabu he was carrying.
The suspect revealed that he had purchased the illegal drugs in the area and intended to bring them to supply in Barangay Quiot, but he encountered the patrolling police, resulting in his arrest.
