Two men died while two women were injured in two separate motorcycle accidents in the towns of Barili and Sibonga on Sunday, May 10, 2026.
Barili Accident
In Barili town, 22-year-old driver Mark Vincent Cajocson, a single resident of Barangay Sta. Ana, was killed. He was reportedly driving without a license. Cajocson was declared dead on arrival at Barili District Hospital after his motorcycle swerved and crashed into an iron fence on the National Road in Barangay Minolos past 4:00 a.m. His two passengers, Mary Chin Cajocson Aventorado, 32, and Azyrille Salud, 24, were injured.
According to reports, the victims had come from a disco in Barangay Nasipit for a fiesta and were heading to Barangay Tangil in Dumanjug town when the accident occurred. The two women are currently being treated at Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.
Sibonga Accident
Over an hour later, another life was claimed on the National Highway in Barangay Bagacay, Sibonga town. The victim was identified as Kent Entoma, a resident of Barangay Coro, Dalaguete town.
Investigation showed that the victim was driving his motorcycle at high speed towards the southern part of Cebu and attempted to overtake another vehicle. However, an L-300 van driven by Nelson Cantina Boiser, 50, was coming from the opposite direction, resulting in a severe collision.
Due to the impact, the victim was thrown from his motorcycle and landed head-first on the road. Entoma was taken to Carcar District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The driver of the L-300, Boiser, a resident of Carcar City, is currently detained by police while appropriate charges are being prepared against him.
