Cebu Launches First Province-Led Transport Subsidy

The Province of Cebu has made history by becoming the first in the Philippines to implement a province-led public transportation subsidy program called 'Tabang Pangbyahe.'

On June 17, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was formally signed at the Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) among the Province of Cebu, the Department of Transportation (DOTr), and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

With a P20-million fund from the DOTr, the program aims to upgrade the travel experience of Cebuanos, making it safer, more comfortable, and more reliable. It also encourages bus operators to improve their services.
