MPTC Rolls Out 'Biyaheng Arangkada' for Enhanced Holy Week Travel Safety
METRO Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) has officially launched its comprehensive 'Biyaheng Arangkada' motorist assistance program, designed to support travelers across its extensive expressway network during the Holy Week period. The initiative runs from March 27 to April 6, 2026, covering key expressways such as the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Subic–Clark–Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), NLEX Connector, Manila-Cavite Expressway (Cavitex), Cavite–Laguna Expressway, and Cebu–Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX).
Strategic Partnerships and Personnel Deployment
In collaboration with the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) and the Philippine Reclamation Authority through PEA Tollway Corp., MPTC is implementing this program specifically on SCTEX and Cavitex. To ensure smooth operations, the company has augmented personnel deployment across all its expressways, focusing on traffic management, incident response, and efficient toll transactions from Sunday, March 29, to Easter Sunday, April 5.
Comprehensive Motorist Assistance Services
The 'Biyaheng Arangkada' initiative underscores MPTC's commitment to providing a safe and seamless journey for motorists and commuters, enabling them to reconnect with family during this season. Key services include:
- Roadside assistance stations and medical teams on standby at select stops.
- Electric vehicle charging stations and free Wi-Fi at designated NLEX and SCTEX rest and refuel stations.
- 24-hour basic mechanical services available at all NLEX and SCTEX rest and refuel stations.
- Free towing to the nearest exit for Class 1 vehicles (and Class 1M for CCLEX) from 6 a.m. on March 27 to 6 a.m. on April 6.
- 24-hour customer support via hotline 1-35000 and the MPT DriveHub app.
Traffic Management and Safety Measures
To optimize traffic flow, MPTC has suspended all roadworks, lane closures, and maintenance activities during this period. Traffic teams are prepared to activate counterflow schemes when necessary. The company advises motorists to plan trips outside peak hours, with anticipated northbound traffic on NLEX from Wednesday afternoon, April 1, to Thursday afternoon, April 2, and southbound volume expected on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and evenings, April 4-5, as well as early Monday morning, April 6.
Pre-Travel Recommendations for Motorists
MPTC encourages travelers to:
- Check RFID accounts for sufficient balance before departure.
- Inspect vehicles thoroughly to ensure they are road-ready.
- Take regular breaks and adhere to speed limits and traffic regulations.
- Stay updated via social media channels and the MPT DriveHub app for real-time information.
This initiative aims to foster a safer and more efficient travel experience during one of the busiest periods on Philippine roads.
