The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) has stepped in to help hundreds of workers who lost their jobs following the shutdown of Charter Link Clark, Inc. The state-owned firm is working closely with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to provide support and new opportunities.
Orderly Settlement of Worker Claims
According to a report from the DOLE Clark Satellite Office dated December 22, 2025, the separation pay process was handled in an organized way. The agency confirmed that out of 477 affected employees, a total of 399 workers have already acknowledged and received their complete monetary claims.
The remaining employees were not able to collect their benefits immediately as they have returned to their home provinces. DOLE stated that these individuals are scheduled to claim their separation pay in the coming year.
Immediate Response and Upcoming Job Fair
DOLE Regional Office III Director Geraldine Panlilio announced that the agency's Quick Response Team will be activated. This team will profile all affected workers to identify the best possible interventions, which may include livelihood programs.
In a direct move to connect displaced workers with new employers, a Job Fair has been scheduled for January 9, 2026 (Friday). This event, organized by CDC in partnership with DOLE, aims to provide employment opportunities within the Clark Freeport Zone and nearby areas.
Commitment to Transparency and Community Support
CDC President Agnes Devanadera emphasized the corporation's readiness to collaborate with DOLE and other relevant agencies. The goal is to ensure the affected employees gain access to programs that offer sustainable job opportunities.
"We respect the mandate of DOLE and the prerogative of locators to manage their internal affairs," Devanadera said. "But we also underscore the importance of transparency and coordination, especially in matters that affect the broader Clark community."
The CDC advised the public to monitor its official Facebook page for further updates and announcements regarding the assistance program and the upcoming job fair.
