House Committee Adopts Four Resolutions Honoring Filipino Achievers
In a significant move to celebrate Filipino excellence, the House Committee on Basic Education and Culture adopted four resolutions during its meeting on February 10, 2026. These resolutions, all filed by Congressman Carmelo "Pogi" Lazatin Jr., aim to honor individuals and teams who have brought pride to the Philippines through their remarkable accomplishments in various fields.
Details of the Adopted Resolutions
The committee approved the following House Resolutions:
- HR No. 381: Honors Aries Resultay Galang for being named one of the Outstanding Filipino Educators in the United Arab Emirates 2025 by the Filipino International Teachers’ Society.
- HR No. 412: Recognizes the Angeles City Science High School research team for winning a gold medal at Science Castle Asia 2025.

- HR No. 429: Congratulates Kean Mattieu Aguilar for winning gold medals in both the Philippine International Mathematical Olympiad Final Round and the Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad.
Congressman Lazatin emphasized that these resolutions were filed to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of Filipinos who have excelled internationally, thereby enhancing the country's reputation on the global stage.
Previous Recognition and Incentives
In November 2025, Lazatin took proactive steps to support these achievers by awarding them with Certificates of Recognition and personal cash incentives. The honorees included:
- Members of the Nexus Robotics Team: Mira Preshuce Valentin, Tatianna Alysse Llanos Dee, Sean Joseph Liangco, Liam Jibriel Cubacub, and Mateo Sebastian Dulatre.
- The ACSCI Research Team: Matthew Sardeng, Reatriz Escarro, and Althea Ramos.
This initiative underscores Lazatin's commitment to fostering talent and encouraging future generations to strive for excellence.
Additional Recognition for Young Athlete
Further demonstrating his support for Filipino achievers, Lazatin filed HR No. 734 on February 4, 2026. This resolution congratulates Adam Delos Reyes, a 7-year-old Grade 2 student from Barangay Pandan, Angeles City, and a pupil at Living Stone International School. Delos Reyes won a silver medal in the 50-meter backstroke and a bronze medal in the 4x50-meter medley relay at the 6th Asian Open Schools Invitational Aquatics Championship, held from January 29 to February 1, 2026, in Thailand.
His achievements highlight the potential of young Filipinos in sports and add to the growing list of accomplishments being recognized by the government.
These resolutions not only celebrate individual successes but also serve as an inspiration for others to pursue their passions and contribute to the nation's glory. The House Committee's actions reflect a broader effort to promote education, innovation, and sports development across the Philippines.
