Jayvee Lyn Lorejo was officially crowned as the new Miss Global Philippines during a ceremony held on Saturday in Quezon City. She succeeds Valerie Pawid West, who vacated the title after stepping down. The coronation was graced by the presence of reigning Miss Global Nguyen Dinh Nhu Var and TPN Global CEO Piyaporn Sankosik, who traveled from Thailand to the Philippines for the event.
Lorejo's Pageant Background
Prior to her crowning as Miss Global Philippines, Lorejo was named Miss Tourism International Philippines after representing the Davao Region in the 2026 Miss World Philippines pageant held in February. Her successful stint in that competition paved the way for her elevation to the national Miss Global title.
Vacancy and Succession
The Miss Global Philippines title became vacant when West, who had won the title after representing Ifugao in the 2026 Miss World Philippines pageant, stepped down from her role. The reasons for West's departure were not disclosed, but the transition allowed Lorejo to take over the responsibilities of representing the country in the Miss Global competition.
Attendance of International Officials
The presence of Miss Global Nguyen Dinh Nhu Var and TPN Global CEO Piyaporn Sankosik underscored the importance of the event. Their attendance highlighted the close ties between the Philippine pageant organization and the international Miss Global body, based in Thailand.
