Police in Tabogon town are tracking down two men who snatched a necklace from a 72-year-old woman right in front of her house. The incident was captured on CCTV, clearly showing the perpetrators' faces.
Incident Details
The robbery occurred on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Sitio Lamac, Barangay Ilihan, Tabogon. The victim, identified only as Juan, was at her front door when she was approached by one of the suspects.
The suspect on foot pretended to ask for directions, holding a cellphone as if showing something. The victim, unsuspecting, stepped closer. Meanwhile, an accomplice waited on a motorcycle nearby, wearing a helmet.
The CCTV footage shows the suspect suddenly grabbing the victim's approximately 20-inch gold necklace, then fleeing to the waiting motorcycle. The suspect has a distinct tattoo on his left forearm.
Police Response
Tabogon Police Station chief Police Captain Blain Dan Tabares has coordinated with other police stations to arrest the suspects. Photos of the suspect have been distributed to police stations across Cebu province.
The footage went viral on social media, aiding in the identification. Police urge anyone who recognizes the suspects to report to the nearest police station.
