P12M Drugs Seized, 500 Arrested in PRO-7 Weeklong Ops

The Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO-7) seized over P12 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested nearly 500 individuals during a weeklong anti-criminality operation from May 24 to May 30, 2026.

According to data released by PRO-7, 192 people were arrested in successive anti-drug operations across Central Visayas. These operations resulted in the seizure of 1,816.26 grams of suspected shabu, with a standard drug price of P12,350,568.

The police also intensified their campaign against illegal gambling, apprehending 109 suspected gamblers and confiscating P15,295 in bets.

Meanwhile, in the campaign against loose firearms, 26 individuals were arrested, and 32 firearms of various calibers and 115 rounds of ammunition were seized. The police stated that these operations aim to prevent the use of weapons in crimes, including shooting incidents in the region.

Police Brigadier General Arnold Abad, Acting Regional Director of PRO-7, emphasized that the police remain committed to their mission of combating criminality and ensuring the safety of Central Visayas residents.

“Our operational gains this week reflect PRO 7’s unwavering commitment to protecting the people of Central Visayas from the threats posed by illegal drugs, wanted persons, illegal gambling, and loose firearms,” Abad said.

Abad also assured the public that PRO-7 will continue its aggressive campaign against criminality and strengthen its partnership with local government units, communities, and other government agencies to ensure peace and order throughout Central Visayas.
