PRO-NIR Seizes P1.02M Shabu in Bacolod Drug Busts

THE Police Regional Office in Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) confiscated an estimated PHP 1.020 million worth of shabu during separate drug busts conducted in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental on May 5 and 6, 2026. The operations resulted in the arrest of three individuals, according to a report released on May 6.

Suspects Apprehended

The arrests were carried out by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO). The suspects were identified as alias Mimi, 22, a resident of Purok Lubi, Barangay 3; alias Em-em, 31, and alias Polite, 41, both residents of Purok Fatima 2, Barangay Sum-ag.

First Operation: May 6

Alias Mimi, classified as a high-value individual (HVI) in Bacolod City, was arrested on Wednesday morning, May 6, after allegedly selling a sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer in Purok Lubi, Barangay 3. Police recovered from the suspect several plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 50 grams, with an estimated market value of PHP 340,000, along with marked money.

Second Operation: May 5

In a separate bust on May 5, alias Em-em, also identified as an HVI, and alias Polite, considered a street-level individual (SLI), were arrested in Purok Fatima 2, Barangay Sum-ag. Authorities seized from them several plastic sachets of shabu weighing 100 grams, valued at approximately PHP 680,000, as well as marked money.

Police Commitment

Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong, chief of the PRO-NIR Public Information Office, stated that the regional police have strengthened their intelligence-driven anti-drug campaign and sustained inter-unit coordination to dismantle illegal drug activities at both high-value and street levels. “It likewise reflects the organization’s firm commitment to intensify law enforcement operations through proactive strategies and coordinated action against individuals involved in the illegal drug trade,” Malong said.

Through continued collaboration and decisive field operations, Malong added that PRO-NIR reinforces its drive to disrupt drug networks, uphold the rule of law, and ensure safer communities toward a drug-free Negros Island Region.
