DAVAO CITY - The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) has officially raised Blue Alert status in preparation for Undas 2025, implementing comprehensive safety measures to ensure peaceful and orderly observances during the All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day commemorations.
Enhanced Emergency Preparedness
Starting October 29 until November 2, 2025, the CDRRMO will maintain heightened vigilance with full staffing and 24/7 monitoring capabilities. The alert status ensures that all emergency response teams, including search and rescue units, medical personnel, and disaster management specialists, remain on standby throughout the holiday period.
Strategic Safety Deployments
According to CDRRMO head Alfredo Baloran, the agency is coordinating with multiple government units to implement:
- Round-the-clock monitoring at major public and private cemeteries
- Emergency medical teams stationed at key locations
- Traffic management units deployed along major routes leading to memorial parks
- Public assistance desks to help visitors locate graves and access facilities
Proactive Community Measures
The CDRRMO emphasizes the importance of public cooperation in maintaining safety standards. Baloran strongly advises against bringing flammable materials, sharp objects, and loud sound systems into cemetery premises. Additionally, visitors are encouraged to:
- Secure their homes before leaving for cemetery visits
- Follow designated parking areas to prevent traffic congestion
- Keep emergency contact numbers readily available
- Stay hydrated and protect against heat during daytime visits
