BDO Waives Remittance Fees for Earthquake Donations from OFWs
BDO Waives Remittance Fees for Earthquake Donations

BDO Unibank is supporting overseas Filipinos in aiding relief and recovery efforts after the recent earthquake in General Santos City and nearby areas by waiving remittance fees for earthquake-related donations sent through BDO Remit offices abroad.

The fee waiver, effective from June 8 to July 31, 2026, ensures that donors can maximize their contributions, allowing more assistance to reach affected families and communities. The initiative covers donations channeled through BDO Foundation, ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, GMA Kapuso Foundation, and the Philippine Red Cross.

How the Fee Waiver Works

By removing transaction costs, BDO aims to simplify the process for overseas Filipinos to immediately support relief and rehabilitation efforts in earthquake-affected regions. Donors can send funds through any BDO Remit office, and the waived fees mean the full amount goes directly to the chosen humanitarian organization.

“During times of calamity, every act of generosity counts. By waiving remittance fees for relief donations, we hope to make it easier for Filipinos abroad to support families and communities as they recover and rebuild,” said Genie Gloria, BDO Senior Vice President and Head of Remittance.

Partnerships with Humanitarian Organizations

The initiative reflects BDO’s ongoing commitment to helping communities respond to and recover from crises. Through its remittance services and partnerships with trusted organizations like ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, GMA Kapuso Foundation, and the Philippine Red Cross, BDO continues to provide ways for Filipinos worldwide to support those in need.

Donations can be made until July 31, 2026, ensuring a sustained flow of aid during the critical recovery period. BDO encourages overseas Filipinos to take advantage of the fee waiver to amplify their impact.
