A tragic road accident claimed the life of a motorcycle driver in Toledo City on Wednesday evening, March 18, 2026. The incident occurred in Barangay Poog, where the victim, identified as Chris John Daroca Pagar, was fatally struck by an Isuzu tractor head.
Details of the Fatal Collision
According to Patrolman Bryan Binarao, an investigator from the Toledo Police Station, the accident happened at approximately 6:55 PM. Three vehicles were traveling in the same direction toward Balamban at the time. The Isuzu tractor head, driven by 46-year-old Ramil Blanco from Barangay Aliwanay, Balamban, was leading the convoy, with the Pagar brothers' motorcycle positioned in the middle, and another motorcycle following behind.
Sequence of Events Leading to the Tragedy
Investigations reveal that the trailing motorcycle attempted to overtake the tractor head. However, due to an oncoming vehicle, the driver quickly swerved back into their lane. In doing so, they collided with the Pagar brothers' motorcycle.
The impact was severe, causing Chris John Daroca Pagar to lose control of his vehicle. He was thrown under the tractor head, where he was fatally crushed by the wheels, sustaining critical head injuries. He was declared dead-on-arrival at the hospital.
Injuries and Legal Actions
While Chris John Daroca Pagar, an elderly resident of Barangay Vito, Balamban, succumbed to his injuries, his brother and passenger, Venjie Pagar, suffered bodily wounds and is receiving medical treatment. The tractor head driver, Ramil Blanco, is currently detained at the Toledo Police Station as authorities prepare appropriate charges against him in connection with the fatal incident.
