Cebu Province Medical Missions Continue Amid Heavy Rains
The Provincial Government of Cebu has announced that medical missions and healthcare services will persist across the province in the coming days, despite the ongoing heavy rainfall. This initiative aims to provide essential medical support to residents in various barangays, ensuring access to free healthcare during the challenging weather conditions.
Schedule of Free Healthcare Services
The medical missions are scheduled as follows:
- February 11: Services will be held in the morning at Barangay Candaguit, Sibonga City, and in the afternoon at Barangay Mantalungon, Dalaguete City.
- February 12: Morning sessions at Barangay Malalay, Ronda City, and afternoon sessions at Barangay Vive.
- February 13: Services will take place at Ylac Cathedral in Cebu City.
- February 14 (Valentine’s Day): Morning mission at Barangay Tubod and afternoon mission at Barangay Balungag.
Leadership and Additional Health Measures
These medical missions are being led by Dr. Nikki Catalan, the Provincial Health Consultant, who is overseeing the operations to ensure efficient delivery of healthcare services. In addition to the scheduled missions, the Provincial Health Office is continuing its distribution of prophylactic medicines. This effort is particularly crucial during the current period of frequent rains, which have led to flooding and increased health risks in the region.
The provincial government emphasizes the importance of these services in mitigating the impact of the rainy season on public health. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of these free healthcare opportunities to address medical needs and receive preventive care.
