7 Kilos of Kush Seized in GenSan Courier Drug Bust

Authorities in General Santos City have scored a significant victory against the illegal drug trade, arresting one suspect and confiscating approximately seven kilograms of high-grade dried marijuana, commonly known as kush. The contraband was discovered hidden inside parcels sent through a courier service.

Operation Nets Suspect and Initial Shipment

According to Police Brigadier General Arnold Ardiente, director of the Police Regional Office-12 (PRO-12), the operation led to the arrest of an individual known only as alias Ron. The arrest took place on Monday, December 22, 2025, along Digos-Makar Road in Barangay Lagao, General Santos City.

Ron faces charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code concerning resistance to persons in authority. Following his arrest and after being informed of his rights, Ron cooperated with investigators.

Courier Tracking Leads to Major Haul

During the custodial investigation, Ron disclosed that he was expecting a parcel containing two kilograms of suspected marijuana, consigned under the alias "Bords." Police tracked the shipment, which moved from Dasmariñas City to General Santos City between December 20 and 26, 2025.

Operatives successfully recovered this package from a courier firm's warehouse in the city. The contents were confirmed to be two kilos of dried marijuana leaves.

Further investigation prompted by Ron's information identified a second suspicious parcel under the alias "Makoy," with packaging similar to the first. A lawful inspection revealed an additional five kilograms of suspected kush, bringing the total seizure to around seven kilos. All evidence has been documented and placed under police custody for proper legal disposition.

Police Vow to Continue Anti-Drug Campaign

General Ardiente emphasized that this operation underscores the police's determination to dismantle drug distribution networks that attempt to use courier services and other deceptive methods. He stated that preventing such a large quantity of drugs from reaching communities is a clear win for public safety.

"We will continue to intensify our anti-illegal drugs campaign," Ardiente affirmed. He also called on the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help authorities in the fight against illegal drugs.
