A 33-year-old delivery rider was arrested inside Police Station 1 in Barangay Centro, Mandaue City, at noon on June 15, 2026.

The suspect, identified only as alias "Miano," is a native of Purok Mansinetas, Barangay Maño, San Remigio, Cebu.

Miano was arrested by joint forces from the Bogo City Police Station, under Police Lieutenant Colonel Maria Teresa Tan, and the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) Station 1. Police served a warrant of arrest for Qualified Theft issued by Judge Clyde Lelith Saplad Lodebica, Acting Presiding Judge of RTC 7 Branch 82 in Bogo City. The court set bail at P40,000 for his temporary release.

According to the investigation, in October last year, Miano worked as a delivery man for a popular shipping and courier services company. He allegedly pocketed and failed to remit his collected earnings amounting to P40,000.

Management revealed that they contacted the accused multiple times, asking where the money was and when it would be returned. However, the suspect never responded. Due to Miano's repeated evasion, the management was forced to file a case, resulting in the issuance of the warrant.

Currently, alias Miano is detained in the cell of Mandaue City Police Station 1 and is scheduled to be turned over to the court that issued his warrant of arrest.
