Bacolod Police Boost Anti-Crime Operations with Two New SWAT Vehicles
Bacolod Police Acquire 2 New SWAT Vans for Enhanced Security

The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has significantly upgraded its tactical capabilities with the acquisition of two brand-new Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) vehicles, marking a major step forward in the city's crime prevention efforts.

Enhanced Emergency Response Capability

Police Lieutenant Colonel Sherlock Gabana, BCPO's public information officer, confirmed that the two fully-equipped SWAT vans were formally turned over to the police force last Friday. These vehicles represent a substantial upgrade to the city's emergency response infrastructure.

The new vehicles will serve multiple critical functions:

  • Rapid deployment to high-risk emergency situations
  • Enhanced mobility for SWAT team operations
  • Improved capability to respond to terrorist threats
  • More effective service of arrest and search warrants in dangerous situations

Strategic Partnership with PCSO

The acquisition was made possible through the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), demonstrating successful inter-agency cooperation. This partnership underscores the commitment of both organizations to strengthen public safety measures throughout Bacolod City.

Police Colonel Noel Aliño, BCPO director, expressed his appreciation for the new assets, emphasizing that they will "greatly enhance our operational readiness and response capabilities during critical incidents."

Boosting Police Visibility and Community Safety

The addition of these specialized vehicles not only improves the technical capabilities of the BCPO but also serves as a visible deterrent to criminal elements. The enhanced police presence and rapid response capability are expected to contribute significantly to maintaining Bacolod's reputation as a safe and secure city.

This modernization initiative aligns with the broader efforts of the Philippine National Police to equip its units with appropriate tools and technology to better serve and protect communities across the country.
