Operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7, in close coordination with the Consolacion Municipal Police Station, executed a targeted raid on a seller of e-cigarettes or vapes containing marijuana and dried marijuana leaves. This significant operation underscores the ongoing efforts to combat illegal drug activities in the Central Visayas region.
Details of the Raid and Location
The raid occurred at 8:33 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2026, in Upper Jugan, Barangay Jugan, Consolacion, Cebu Province. PDEA 7 Director Joel Plaza identified the primary suspect targeted in this operation as alias Jake, a 23-year-old resident of the area. The swift action by authorities highlights their commitment to addressing drug-related offenses in local communities.
Seized Items and Estimated Value
During the operation, PDEA 7 personnel and Consolacion police confiscated a substantial haul of illegal substances and related evidence. The seized items include:
- 77 vape pens containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive component of marijuana, along with dried marijuana leaves.
- Five vape cartridges also laced with THC.
- 29 packets of dried marijuana weighing a total of 324 grams.
The estimated value of these items is around P206,500 for the vape products and P47,520 for the dried marijuana, bringing the total to over P250,000. Additionally, authorities recovered buy-bust money, a scale, a cellphone, and other pieces of evidence crucial for the investigation.
Post-Raid Procedures and Legal Actions
All seized items have been forwarded to the PDEA 7 Regional Office Laboratory for proper analysis and disposition. Meanwhile, the suspect, alias Jake, is currently detained at the PDEA 7 detention facility located in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City. PDEA 7 is actively preparing a case against the suspect, and the investigation continues as authorities plan follow-up operations in the coming days to further dismantle drug networks in the area.
