A total of seven individuals have officially filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs) for the upcoming March 14, 2026, special elections to fill the vacant seat of Member of the House of Representatives for Antipolo City's Second District. According to data released by the Commission on Elections (Comelec), the filing period ran from February 5 to 7, 2026, culminating in this diverse group of contenders.

Comelec Issues Strict Warning Against Premature Campaigning
The Comelec has issued a firm reminder to all aspirants regarding the prohibition of premature campaigning activities. Comelec Chairman George Garcia emphasized that since the March 14 special elections will be conducted manually, the ban on premature campaigning is strictly enforced.
This is a manual election, therefore the ban on premature campaigning is in effect, stated Garcia. He further clarified, Once you file a COC, you are considered a candidate. If you go around, give out things, distribute food, or post campaign materials before the campaign period, that is ground for disqualification and election offense.
This warning underscores the Comelec's commitment to maintaining fair and lawful electoral practices, with potential consequences including disqualification and legal charges for violations.
