Major Arrest in Maasin: Province's 5th Most Wanted Captured

Law enforcement authorities in Iloilo have successfully apprehended a 19-year-old individual, identified only by the alias 'Toto', who was listed as the province's fifth most wanted person. The arrest was executed in Barangay Poblacion, Maasin, Iloilo.

Coordinated Police Operation Leads to Arrest

The suspect was arrested at approximately 4:20 p.m. on November 26, 2025. The operation was a coordinated effort involving personnel from the 603rd Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB 6) in Western Visayas. They were supported by teams from the RMFB 6 Headquarters, the Maasin Municipal Police Station (MPS), the Regional Intelligence Unit in Western Visayas, and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office – Provincial Intelligence Unit.

The arrest was carried out by virtue of a warrant issued by Branch 76 of Janiuay, Iloilo on November 24, 2025. The suspect faces three counts of statutory rape under Article 266-A(1)(D) in relation to Article 266-B(5) of the Revised Penal Code. The court has recommended no bail for the accused, who is now detained at the Maasin MPS awaiting proper disposition.

Police Leadership Commends Operating Units

Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, the regional director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), praised the successful operation. He highlighted the dedication and vigilance of the operating units that led to the capture of one of the province's most sought-after individuals.

"I commend our operating units for their dedication and vigilance that led to the arrest of one of the province’s most wanted persons," Ligan stated. "This successful operation demonstrates our firm commitment to pursuing justice and ensuring that those who commit serious crimes are held accountable."

He further reinforced PRO 6's commitment to community safety, adding, "PRO 6 remains steadfast in protecting our communities, and I urge everyone in the community to continue supporting us in the fight against all forms of criminality to keep Region 6 safe." This arrest marks a significant achievement for the police force in their ongoing campaign against serious crime in the region.
