In a shocking act of violence that has rattled the community, two security guards employed by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) were brutally gunned down in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay on Tuesday morning.
The victims, identified as Jomar Manlanat Ondo and Jomar Jumawan Lim, both dedicated security personnel, were ambushed while performing their duties near the BIR Revenue District Office No. 103.
According to police reports, the assailants arrived on a motorcycle around 10:30 AM and opened fire without warning. The brazen attack occurred in broad daylight, sending panic through the area and leaving the two guards with fatal gunshot wounds.
Immediate Response and Investigation
Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but tragically, both victims were pronounced dead upon arrival at the nearby hospital. The Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Police Office has launched a full-scale investigation into the incident.
"We are pursuing all possible angles and have deployed tracking teams to apprehend the perpetrators," stated Police Lieutenant Colonel William Gadayan, expressing the department's determination to bring the killers to justice.
