Bacolod Police Seize P136,000 Worth of Shabu in Drug Bust, Arrest Suspect
In a significant anti-drug operation, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) confiscated an estimated P136,000 worth of substance believed to be shabu during a drug bust in Purok Lison, Barangay 1, Bacolod City on the morning of Wednesday, April 8, 2026. The operation resulted in the arrest of a 34-year-old suspect known by the alias "Oteng," a resident of the village.
Details of the Operation and Arrest
According to BCPO records, operatives from the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) apprehended the suspect after she sold a sachet of shabu to an undercover poseur buyer. During the bust, police recovered several plastic sachets containing shabu with a total weight of 20 grams, along with marked money from the suspect's possession.
Police Captain Dax Santillan, the BCPO spokesperson, revealed that the suspect is listed in the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (Badac) and is classified as a street-level individual in Bacolod City. Authorities had placed her under surveillance for nearly a month prior to her arrest.
Ongoing Investigation and Legal Charges
Santillan stated that a thorough investigation is currently underway to identify the suspect's supplier. The suspect is now facing charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act (RA) 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. She is currently detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 2.
The BCPO has reiterated its strong commitment to intensifying anti-drug operations across the city. They have also urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperative in the ongoing fight against illegal drugs, emphasizing the importance of community support in these efforts.
