Police Arrest Suspect, Seize P47,600 Worth of Illegal Drugs in Lanao del Norte Operation
In a significant crackdown on illegal drug activities, law enforcement authorities in Lanao del Norte have successfully apprehended a suspect and confiscated more than P47,000 worth of suspected shabu. The operation, which underscores the police's commitment to combating drug proliferation in the region, took place early Friday morning, April 3, 2026.
Details of the Arrest and Seizure
According to Police Colonel Leo De Leon Sua, the Lanao del Norte police director, the suspect, identified only by the alias Tsino, is a 25-year-old unemployed individual. The arrest was carried out through the service of a search warrant at approximately 5:30 a.m. in Purok 1, Poblacion village, Tubod, Lanao del Norte.
During the operation, authorities seized approximately seven grams of suspected shabu, which was packed in seven heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets. The estimated street value of the confiscated drugs is P47,600. In addition to the illegal substances, non-drug items were also recovered from the suspect's residence.
Legal Proceedings and Police Commitment
Following the arrest, the suspect is currently under the custody of the Tubod Municipal Police Station. Police Colonel Sua confirmed that charges are being prepared against the individual for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, a stringent law aimed at curbing drug-related offenses in the Philippines.
