The Iloilo Provincial Police Office (IPPO) is gearing up for a massive security operation in preparation for Undas 2025, deploying approximately 800 police personnel to ensure peaceful and orderly observance of All Saints' Day throughout the province.
Comprehensive Security Strategy
According to Police Colonel Ronaldo Palomo, Iloilo police director, the extensive deployment will cover all major cemeteries, public memorial parks, transportation terminals, and key public areas across Iloilo's various towns and cities. The security plan includes:
- Visible police presence in all 43 municipalities and one component city
- Enhanced patrol operations in crowded areas
- Coordination with local government units and volunteer groups
- 24/7 monitoring of security situations
Traffic Management and Public Assistance
The IPPO has developed a comprehensive traffic management plan to address the expected surge of vehicles heading to cemeteries and memorial parks. Police personnel will be strategically positioned to:
- Manage traffic flow in cemetery vicinities
- Assist in parking area management
- Provide directions and assistance to visitors
- Ensure pedestrian safety in crowded areas
Proactive Safety Measures
Police Colonel Palomo emphasized that the deployment aims not only to maintain peace and order but also to provide immediate assistance to the public. "We want every Ilonggo to observe Undas safely and peacefully with their families," he stated.
The police force will implement preventive measures against potential crimes and emergencies, with quick response teams on standby. The operation will leverage the IPPO's existing resources while maximizing coordination with other law enforcement agencies.
Community Cooperation Encouraged
Authorities are urging the public to cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activities or emergencies immediately. The enhanced security measures reflect the police force's commitment to ensuring that the traditional Filipino observance of honoring departed loved ones remains a safe and meaningful experience for all Ilonggos.
