Iloilo gives ₱2.03M for police water system rehab

The Iloilo Provincial Government has taken a significant step toward improving the living conditions of police personnel by allocating ₱2.03 million for the rehabilitation of water systems at the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) headquarters.

Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. officially turned over the financial assistance on Tuesday, marking a crucial investment in the welfare of law enforcement officers and their families stationed at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City.

Addressing Essential Needs

The substantial funding will be used to repair and upgrade existing water infrastructure within the police camp, ensuring reliable access to clean water for drinking, sanitation, and daily use. This initiative addresses a fundamental need that directly impacts the quality of life for police personnel and their dependents.

"This is part of our support to the PNP in the region," Governor Defensor stated during the turnover ceremony. "We want to ensure that our police force has access to basic necessities like clean water, which is essential for their health and well-being."

Strengthening Police-Community Relations

The ₱2.03 million allocation demonstrates the provincial government's commitment to supporting law enforcement beyond traditional security operations. By investing in the living conditions of police personnel, the initiative aims to:

  • Improve morale among police officers
  • Enhance the overall living environment within the camp
  • Strengthen the partnership between local government and law enforcement
  • Ensure police personnel can focus on their duties without basic utility concerns

Infrastructure Improvements

The water system rehabilitation project will include comprehensive upgrades to the existing infrastructure, focusing on sustainable solutions that will provide long-term benefits to the police community. The improvements are expected to address water pressure issues, pipe repairs, and storage capacity enhancements.

Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, PRO-6 director, expressed gratitude for the provincial government's support, emphasizing how this contribution will significantly improve the daily lives of police personnel and their families residing within the camp premises.

This infrastructure project represents the continuing collaboration between the Iloilo Provincial Government and PRO-6, highlighting the importance of inter-agency cooperation in addressing basic needs and improving public service delivery in the Western Visayas region.
