NBI 7 Launches Safety Training in Schools

The National Bureau of Investigation in Central Visayas (NBI 7) has launched a training program for teachers, students, and parents across various schools to prepare for emergencies, particularly school shooting incidents.

This was announced by the new NBI 7 Regional Director, Atty. Dominador Distrito Cimafranca. The initiative is one of his priorities in office, in response to a series of crimes involving minors that have resulted in the deaths of several students.

Official Module for Schools

The information drive will be developed into an official module for schools. It includes cybersecurity training and netiquette for proper internet use and avoiding online threats, as well as physical security to guide everyone on what to do during a shooting or violent incident on campus. After the training, NBI 7 will also provide recommendations to school administrators to further strengthen their security.

Collaboration with Local Schools

NBI 7 has already partnered with various local schools to arrange security measures not only in Cebu but also in the province of Bohol.

In July, NBI 7 will begin training students and teachers in private schools. This will be followed by seminars in public schools.
