In a significant blow to the illegal drug trade, the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) successfully apprehended two suspected drug personalities during a meticulously planned buy-bust operation in Barangay Balabago, Jaro district.
The operation, conducted on Tuesday evening, resulted in the arrest of John Mark Deita, 27, and Rollyn Rose Escorial, 25, both residents of the said barangay. The suspects are now facing serious charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Seized Evidence Points to Drug Trade
Police operatives recovered substantial evidence from the suspects, including:
- Four sachets containing suspected shabu (methamphetamine)
- Drug paraphernalia
- The marked money used in the undercover transaction
- Various non-drug items
The seizure confirms the ongoing drug trade activities in the area and represents another victory for law enforcement's relentless campaign against illegal substances.
