In a significant blow to illegal drug activities in Western Visayas, Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) successfully apprehended three individuals during separate anti-drug operations conducted across Iloilo City.
The coordinated police actions resulted in the confiscation of substantial evidence and marked another victory in the ongoing campaign against substance abuse in the region.
First Operation Nets High-Value Target
Authorities conducted their initial sting operation in Barangay San Juan, Molo, where they arrested a 38-year-old man classified as a high-value individual in the local drug trade. The suspect was caught in possession of three sachets containing suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P6,800.
Police officials confirmed the suspect is now facing appropriate charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Simultaneous Raid in Mandurriao District
In a parallel operation, law enforcement personnel targeted another high-value individual in Barangay Q. Abeto, Mandurriao District. The 42-year-old suspect was apprehended after selling a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover police officer.
Following the initial transaction, authorities recovered an additional three sachets of the illegal substance from the suspect's possession, bringing the total confiscated drugs to approximately P3,400 worth of shabu.
Third Arrest in Jaro District
The series of operations continued in Barangay Bito-on, Jaro District, where police captured a 36-year-old man also identified as a high-value individual. The suspect was found in possession of two sachets of suspected shabu valued at around P1,000.
All three operations were conducted based on intelligence reports and weeks of surveillance, demonstrating PRO-6's commitment to dismantling drug networks throughout Iloilo City.
Police Statement on Continued Vigilance
PRO-6 officials emphasized that these successful operations reflect their unwavering dedication to maintaining public safety and order. "We will continue to intensify our anti-illegal drug campaigns across Western Visayas," a police representative stated. "These arrests send a clear message that drug-related activities will not be tolerated in our communities."
The suspects are currently detained and will face appropriate charges as the police prepare evidence for prosecution. Authorities encourage the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help maintain the momentum in the fight against illegal drugs.
