Danao City has officially declared its preparedness for the upcoming 3rd Danao City International Ultra Trail (DCIUT), scheduled to take place this weekend on April 18-19, 2026. The event will feature participants traversing key trail routes within the city, which wind through picturesque mountain landscapes. Elite Categories and Participants
One of the most anticipated races is the 100k Elite category, divided into women's and men's divisions. This segment will include top champions from the Philippine trail running circuit and international competitors.
- 100k Elite Women's: The lineup features Elizabeth Dangadang from Baguio City; Buenguet, the champion of the 2026 Philippine Trail Running Championship in Antique; along with Agustoralin Marte from Caloocan, Josephine Rodriguez from Alcoy, Cebu, and Nirmala Rai from Nepal.
- 100k Elite Men's: Participants include John Ray Onifa from Hamtic, Antique; Godwin Mirar from Maramag, Bukidnon; Arnie Macaneras from Digos City, Davao del Sur; Joebert Elmaguin from Igbaras, Iloilo; and Larry Apolinario from Laua-an, Antique.
International Category and Prize Pool
In the 50k International category, notable entrants are Priya Rai from Kathmandu, Nepal; Yang Taesung from Korea; and Wong Chin Lee from Malaysia. The total prize money for the competition amounts to P1 million, underscoring the event's significance and attracting high-caliber talent.
