The defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder mercilessly bombarded and crushed the Phoenix Suns, 4-0, in their first-round Western Conference playoff series in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The top-seeded Thunder completely silenced the Suns, 131-122, in Game 4 of their best-of-seven matchup on April 28, 2026 (Philippine time) at the Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
Gilgeous-Alexander Leads the Charge
Reigning Most Valuable Player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander spearheaded the assault on the Suns with 31 points and eight assists. Big man Chet Holmgren contributed 24 points and 12 rebounds. The Thunder now advance to the Western Conference semifinals, where they will await the winner of the series between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Houston Rockets. The Lakers currently hold a 3-1 series lead.
"We just came in ready," said Gilgeous-Alexander. "Love to play basketball, a group full of great kids that have fun together."
"We do it for each other. None of us are selfish. We all want the next man to succeed and when you have those three things and put them together you get success," he added.
Key Contributions from the Bench
The Thunder also received contributions from Ajay Mitchell, who scored 22 points, and Isaiah Hartenstein, who added 18 points and 12 rebounds. The Suns were led by Devin Booker with 24 points.
