The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) continues to advance its Technology and Innovation initiatives through regular and special seminars and related projects, reinforcing the region's commitment to value-oriented technical education.
Universities Expand Tech Offerings with Values Integration
Atty. Augusto Go of the University of Cebu has expanded the school's technology and technical courses, while Fr. Edcel Celis of the University of San Jose-Recoletos highlighted that the academe continues enrichment courses to update and expose faculty and students to added expertise in various fields of science and technology. Other universities, including the University of San Carlos, University of the Visayas, Cebu Institute of Technology, and Southwestern University, are also enhancing their technical programs. A key feature of these technical courses is the integration of values, ensuring that students are grounded in ethical principles alongside technical skills.
Industry Aligns with Value-Oriented Training
The industry is equally aligned with value-oriented courses and design-related in-service training. According to CCCI officials, this collaboration ensures that the workforce is not only skilled but also principled. Cebu is on the right track with the academe and socio-civic groups promoting value-oriented technology, fostering a holistic approach to education and economic development.
