Converge Completes National Digital Infrastructure with Inauguration of Angeles Data Center

Leading fiber broadband and technology provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has officially completed its comprehensive National Digital Infrastructure, marking a significant milestone in the Philippines' digital transformation journey. The announcement was made during the inauguration of the Converge Angeles Data Center in Angeles City, Pampanga, on Friday, March 20, 2026.

Government Leaders Support Digital Milestone

The launch event was attended by prominent government officials including First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos, Information and Communications Technology Secretary Henry Rhoel Aguda, Pampanga Governor Lilia "Nanay" Pineda, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo "Jon" Lazatin II, Congresswoman Florabel Yatco, and Vice Governor Dennis Pineda. Converge leadership, represented by president and co-founder Grace Uy and CEO and co-founder Dennis Anthony Uy, highlighted the facility's role in advancing the nation's digital capabilities.

A Comprehensive Digital Architecture

The Converge National Digital Infrastructure represents a fully integrated, future-ready architecture designed to support cutting-edge technologies across multiple sectors. This comprehensive system includes:

  • Nearly 900,000 kilometers of nationwide pure fiber footprint
  • A growing low-earth-orbit satellite network
  • International subsea cable systems including Bifrost Cable System and Southeast Asia-Hainan-Hong Kong Express Cable System (SEA-H2X)
  • New cable landing stations in Davao and La Union
  • Multiple data center facilities including the newly inaugurated Angeles Data Center and Caloocan Data Center

The 20,000-kilometer Bifrost cable system offers upgraded capacity exceeding 260 Tbps with landing stations in Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Guam, and the United States. Meanwhile, the SEA-H2X cable system provides initial design capacity of 160 Tbps with connections to Hong Kong SAR, China, Hainan, the Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore.

Angeles Data Center: AI-Ready and Scalable

The newly inaugurated Angeles Data Center is a scalable, AI-ready facility designed to meet the surging demand for content and cloud services. With 12MW capacity that is easily expandable, the world-class facility features:

  1. Built-in redundancy for resilient operations
  2. Configuration to handle data residency requirements
  3. High-performance computing capabilities for AI and machine learning workloads
  4. Planned transition to renewable energy sources

"You cannot move into AI, cloud, or advanced tech solutions without a strong digital backbone in place," emphasized Uy. "This is the complete stack digital infrastructure that we have built. This is infrastructure designed for full coverage, reliability, and scale."

Converge Cloud: Sovereign Data Platform

A crucial component of the new infrastructure is the Converge Cloud, a sovereign cloud infrastructure that will be housed within the Angeles Data Center. This platform addresses the growing need for in-country storage and control of critical data across both government and private sectors.

The sovereign cloud offering aligns with the Department of Information and Communications Technology's 'Cloud First' policy and provides organizations, particularly government agencies handling sensitive citizen data, with full ownership and authority over their information. The platform eliminates the need for costly hardware investments while offering security backed by global technology with local guardrails.

Driving National Digital Transformation

With this expanded infrastructure, Converge is positioned to scale its services to meet the burgeoning digital requirements of residential, enterprise, and public sector customers. The company anticipates significant growth in its large enterprise and public sector units through the introduction of additional cloud solutions and managed services.

The complete digital architecture empowers Converge to lead the charge into a technology-enabled future, consequently propelling the Philippines as a significant node in the global digital economy. The integration of trans-Pacific and intra-Asia cable systems provides direct access to key international markets, attracting hyperscalers and global over-the-top players while offering massive capacity boosts.

This infrastructure development comes at a critical time as industries including finance, healthcare, and government increasingly rely on secure, locally-hosted digital platforms to drive innovation and efficiency while maintaining data sovereignty and security standards.
