Converge ICT Boosts Network with P23B Capex, 1M New Ports for 2026
Converge ICT Expands with P23B Capex, 1M New Ports

Converge ICT Solutions Inc., a leading fixed broadband and technology provider in the Philippines, is set to deploy nearly one million additional ports throughout 2026. This ambitious initiative aims to extend world-class internet connectivity to more Filipinos, with a particular focus on underserved regions in Visayas and Mindanao.

Substantial Capital Investment for Network Growth

To support this expansion, Converge has allocated up to P23 billion in capital expenditures for the year. This represents a significant increase of approximately 30 percent compared to the P17.7 billion spent in 2025. The bulk of these funds will be directed toward strengthening and expanding the company's already extensive network infrastructure.

Strategic Focus on Network Hardening and Redundancy

Annually, Converge dedicates a considerable portion of its capital expenditure to network hardening, which involves laying out redundancy routes to enhance reliability. Concurrently, the company continues its expansion into new cities and municipalities across the country.

In line with its objectives to rehabilitate infrastructure and anticipate wholesale demand, Converge is accelerating the speed of its network rollout. This proactive approach ensures robust and resilient connectivity for both residential and enterprise customers.

CEO Emphasizes Expansion and Enterprise Growth

Dennis Anthony Uy, CEO and Co-Founder of Converge, highlighted the company's strategic priorities. "We are investing heavily in our network expansion as we push harder for visibility in Visayas and Mindanao. At the same time, we are ramping up our Enterprise business amid increasing demand for quality connectivity and innovative solutions from enterprises of all sizes," Uy stated.

Targeted Regions and Port Deployment

Key areas of focus for 2026 include Western Visayas and Northern Mindanao, where more than 100,000 ports are being prepared for service. Specific provinces set to benefit from this rollout include Capiz, Samar, Bukidnon, Davao de Oro, and Sultan Kudarat, bringing high-speed internet to previously less-connected communities.

Strong Subscriber Base and Port Utilization

As of 2025, Converge reported nearly three million residential subscribers, with port utilization reaching 37 percent. The company had registered a total of 9.2 million ports nationwide by the end of that year, covering 66 percent of homes passed across the Philippines.

Uy expressed optimism about future growth, noting, "We expect to further increase our port utilization even as we accelerate our port rollout, given the continued strong demand for our flagship FiberX plans, steady rise in our low-cost postpaid BIDA, and the vigorous take-up of our prepaid internet Surf2Sawa or S2S."

Industry Recognition and Performance Metrics

Converge's commitment to excellence has been recognized with several accolades. In 2025, Ookla awarded the company as the Philippines' Best Fixed Network, The Fastest Fixed Network, and for having the Best Video Experience during the third and fourth quarters.

Additionally, in December 2025, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) proclaimed Converge as the national broadband leader in the industry. Among major players, Converge achieved the best average download speed, the best average upload speed, and the lowest latency, solidifying its position as a top-tier provider.
