Davao Police Arrest 85 in Anti-Crime Operations

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) arrested 85 individuals in a series of intensified law enforcement operations targeting illegal drugs, gambling, wanted persons, and loose firearms from June 28 to July 4, 2026.

Drug Operations Lead Arrests

Anti-illegal drug operations accounted for the largest number of arrests, with 27 operations netting 33 suspects. Authorities confiscated 1,401.888 grams of shabu, valued at an estimated P9,532,838.40, along with 9.5 grams of marijuana worth P1,140. The seized drugs will serve as evidence in cases filed under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Gambling and Wanted Persons

The DCPO conducted 14 anti-illegal gambling operations, arresting 18 individuals and confiscating P4,604 in bet money. Fourteen corresponding cases were filed. Meanwhile, 34 operations against wanted persons led to the arrest of 34 fugitives, including 10 on the city's most wanted list, as police enforced outstanding court warrants.

Loose Firearms Campaign

In the drive against loose firearms, 16 operations resulted in the seizure of one firearm, recovery of one, and voluntary surrender of 10. Six firearms were accepted for safekeeping. No arrests were made, and no criminal cases were filed in connection with these operations.

Commitment to Public Safety

DCPO Director Police Colonel Peter Bauzon Madria emphasized sustained collaboration with barangay officials, local government units, and the community. “These accomplishments reflect our commitment to enforcing the law while respecting human rights,” he said. The operations align with the Philippine National Police's four focus areas: illegal drugs, illegal gambling, wanted persons, and loose firearms.
