DOLE Offers 4,954 Jobs in Zamboanga Labor Day Fair

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in Zamboanga Peninsula has announced a total of 4,954 job vacancies available during the simultaneous Labor Day job fair. DOLE Zamboanga Peninsula Director Albert Gutib confirmed on Friday, April 24, 2026, that the vacancies include 2,766 overseas placements and 2,188 local employment opportunities.

Job Fair Details

The job fair is part of the 124th Labor Day celebration, themed “Disenteng Trabaho Para sa Lahat: Iisang Hangarin, Bagong Pilipinas Sama-samang Marating.” It will feature participation from 10 overseas placement agencies and 68 local companies. Zamboanga City leads with the highest number of vacancies at 2,605, comprising 1,089 overseas and 1,516 local positions.

Simultaneous Events

The job fair will be held simultaneously in Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Sulu, and Isabela City. In addition to the job fair, DOLE will distribute government assistance, including livelihood kits, Kadiwa ng Pagulo, and Tulong Panghanapbuhay Para sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (Tupad) payouts.

Inter-Agency Collaboration

A ceremonial turnover of the Benteng Bigas Meron na program will also take place in partnership with the Department of Agriculture, National Food Authority, and Southern Philippines Fishing Association, Incorporated. This initiative aims to ensure affordable rice and improve food security for minimum wage earners, highlighting strengthened inter-agency collaboration.
