Operation Against IMSI Catchers
The scammers were equipped with International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) catchers, which are illegal devices designed to intercept mobile communications and facilitate fraudulent activities. This operation was spearheaded by the Philippine National Police-Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) after they detected unusual cellular signals in the area, indicating the presence of these sophisticated tools.

Through advanced signal triangulation techniques and close coordination with barangay officials, law enforcement was able to pinpoint the source of the suspicious signals and successfully identify the suspects.
