The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 7 continues to provide P5,000 Cash Relief Assistance (CRA) to motorcycle taxi drivers and service delivery riders affected by rising fuel prices and operational costs.
Payout Activity at SM Seaside City Cebu
The payout activity was conducted at Skyhall, SM Seaside City Cebu from June 15 to 18, 2026, under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program of DSWD.
According to DSWD 7, a total of 32,149 drivers from Grab Philippines, including Move It, Grab Express, and Grab My Taxi, are targeted to receive the aid.
Part of Uplift Framework
The financial assistance is part of the Unified Package of Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (Uplift) Framework established under Executive Order No. 110 to mitigate the impact of Middle East tensions on the economy and the most affected sectors.
The Uplift Framework aims to ensure energy stability, prevent food price increases, and protect the livelihoods of affected sectors through coordinated government programs. It aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to provide immediate support to transport workers affected by global economic challenges.
Beneficiary's Gratitude
One of the beneficiaries, Fujierico Baliwan, a Move It driver from Cebu and former Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), expressed his gratitude for the aid and the smooth process.
“The process was very fast, easy, and accommodating. The line was organized, and we did not waste time claiming our P5,000. Thank you very much for your service. I will use it to buy rice and viand, give half to my wife, and the rest for gasoline,” Baliwan said.
Broader Government Response
Prior to this payout activity, DSWD 7 had already provided cash relief assistance to tricycle drivers, public utility jeepney (PUJ) drivers, service delivery riders, motorcycle taxi drivers, and other Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) drivers as part of the government's broader response to the impact of rising petroleum product prices.
The activity was implemented in partnership with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), local government units, and transport network companies to ensure organized and efficient distribution of aid to qualified beneficiaries.
DSWD Field Office 7 remains committed to providing timely, responsive, and people-centered services for sectors vulnerable to economic difficulties and other emergencies.
