Cebu Job Fair 2026: Nearly 20,000 Local and Overseas Positions Available
The Cebu Provincial Capitol is set to host a major two-day job fair on February 21-22, 2026, offering nearly 20,000 job vacancies for both local and overseas applicants. This event, organized by the Provincial Employment Services Office (Peso) and the Cebu People’s Action Center (CPAC), aims to provide decent employment opportunities to Cebuano constituents under the administration of Governor Pamela Baricuatro.
Event Details and Organization
According to Josephine Tonilon, Peso Alternative Employment Officer, this job fair is the first of four scheduled for the year. She emphasized that the collaboration between Peso and CPAC is a key initiative to support the governor's direction of fostering economic growth through job creation. "Our direction is to provide decent jobs to Cebu constituents," Tonilon stated, highlighting the close partnership between the agencies.
Recruitment Categories and Opportunities
The job fair is divided into two distinct recruitment categories to cater to diverse applicant needs:
- Overseas Recruitment (February 21): This session features nearly 10,000 vacancies, with a focus on tourism-related positions and skilled work in destinations such as Dubai and Kuwait.
- Local Recruitment (February 22): Following the overseas session, this day offers another 10,000 positions, primarily in the tourism industry and for skilled laborers within Cebu.
Historical Context and Previous Success
This event marks the second job fair since Governor Baricuatro assumed office in June 2025. The previous fair, held in October 2025, demonstrated significant success, with over 600 applicants hired for local positions and more than 200 securing overseas employment. This track record underscores the effectiveness of such initiatives in addressing unemployment and supporting the local economy.
The job fair at the Cebu Provincial Capitol represents a proactive effort to connect job seekers with valuable opportunities, reinforcing the province's commitment to sustainable employment and community development.
