Provincial Government Highlights Economic Opportunities
The Provincial Government of Cebu has emphasized the continuous rise in travel demand, driven by the reinstatement of the Cebu to Quanzhou route operated by Xiamen Airlines. This new development is expected to open up fresh opportunities for tourism growth and business connections, facilitated by the direct flight service. The route will operate twice weekly, every Tuesday and Saturday, providing consistent connectivity.
Support for China's Visa-Free Policy
This initiative aligns with and supports China's 14-day visa-free entry policy for tourists, making travel to Cebu more accessible and convenient for Chinese visitors. The policy is anticipated to boost tourist arrivals and stimulate local economies in Cebu.

During the ceremonial event, Flight MF8695 from Quanzhou Jinjiang International Airport received the water cannon salute. Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro personally welcomed and bid farewell to passengers on Flight MF8696, which departed for Quanzhou. The occasion was attended by notable figures, including:

The provincial government remains optimistic that this renewed air link will foster long-term economic benefits and cultural exchanges between China and the Philippines.
