Oil companies have announced new price adjustments, with rollbacks for diesel and kerosene and a slight increase for gasoline, effective May 12, 2026.

Price Adjustments

In separate advisories, diesel prices will decrease by PHP 9.57 per liter, while kerosene will drop by PHP 13.30 per liter. Conversely, gasoline prices will increase by PHP 0.47 per liter.

Background

These adjustments follow the Department of Energy's (DOE) policy implemented from May 12 to 18. Industry sources earlier projected a possible PHP 4.00 per liter increase for gasoline and up to PHP 8.00 per liter decrease for diesel, based on global oil price movements.

According to the DOE, the changes are driven by global oil market trends amid ongoing developments in the Middle East that affect crude supply and prices.

Previous Adjustments

Last week, gasoline rose by PHP 2.21 per liter and diesel by PHP 2.66 per liter, while kerosene dropped by PHP 3.53 per liter.

Year-to-date net increases from January to May 5, 2026, stand at PHP 46.44 per liter for gasoline, PHP 51.82 per liter for diesel, and PHP 54.46 per liter for kerosene.
