Classes at Mandaue City Central School (MCCS) resumed on Monday, June 8, but school officials are still working to address the shortage of enrollees, with nearly 1,000 students yet to register.
According to School Head Louwela Guerrero, only 2,838 students have been officially recorded out of the expected 3,800 enrollees, which is just 79 percent of the school's target population.
She added that the school remains hopeful that more students will enroll in the coming days.
Guerrero cited families who have not yet returned from vacation as one reason for the low enrollment, while others have gone back to their respective provinces.
