Filipino-German beauty queen Imelda Schweighart has strongly denied circulating reports that she was removed as a candidate for Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) 2026 due to alleged bullying issues. The rumor resurfaced months after the initial report, following the release of her introduction video as one of the Philippines' representatives to the Miss Grand International All Stars. The video drew mixed reactions from pageant fans, with some showing support while others questioned her credibility.
In response to a comment accusing her of bullying and being dropped from MUPH, Schweighart directly addressed the claim, calling it "fake news." She urged the public to focus on more meaningful matters instead. It is recalled that in March, MUPH announced that one candidate would no longer be allowed to continue in the competition, though the individual was not named. Schweighart, who was set to represent Kalibo, Aklan, also shared a message about the end of her pageant journey experience.
Despite the controversy, Schweighart was selected as one of the country's representatives for the Miss Grand International All Stars, alongside Fuschia Ravena, Gazini Ganados, Alexia Nuñez, and Keylyn Trajano.
