Yasmien Kurdi Embarks on Law Journey

Yasmien Kurdi, who graduated magna cum laude with a degree in AB Political Science from Arellano University in 2019, has now taken up law at Arellano Law School, a dream she says she has long held.

Challenges of Law School

In an interview with Pep.ph, the 37-year-old Kapuso star shared the difficulties of being a law student. "It's hard because you always have to read. And if you're not diligent in reading, you'll be left behind," she said in Filipino.

"You really need to be industrious as a law student. Reading in law school is different. You go cover to cover of a book. For example, you read Criminal Law cover to cover. There's Book One and Book Two because of the many articles," she added.

She explained that in one semester, a student finishes an entire book for a single subject, and with many subjects, the workload is immense.

Toughest Subjects

For Kurdi, the hardest subject in her first year was learning how to make case digests, as she had no prior experience. In the second semester, she found Obligations and Contract challenging, as it involves contracts and debts.

Support from Husband

Kurdi said her husband, Rey Soldevilla, is supportive of her law studies and is the one who encouraged her to continue her education.
