On April 14, 2026, the Teatro de San Pedro Calungsod officially inaugurated Teatro Rosita at the San Isidro Labrador Parish in Talisay City, Cebu. The ceremony was led by Archbishop Alberto Uy, who also celebrated his 33rd anniversary in the priesthood on the same day.
Inauguration Ceremony
The event began with a ribbon-cutting and blessing of the new theater. Archbishop Uy, joined by local clergy and parishioners, dedicated the venue to the service of the community. The theater was named after Rosita Velez Ancajas, mother of Msgr. Agustin “Ting” Ancajas, as a tribute to her enduring legacy and contributions to the faith.
Inaugural Presentation
Following the blessing, the inaugural presentation titled “Mga Dula sa Paglaum” was staged for the archbishop and guests. The performance showcased local talent and highlighted themes of hope and faith, aligning with the theater's mission to serve as a space for evangelization through the arts.
The establishment of Teatro Rosita is seen as a significant addition to the parish's ministry, providing a dedicated venue for cultural and spiritual activities. It aims to foster community engagement and creative expression while spreading the message of the Church.
