More than 3,000 residents in Bogo City whose homes were destroyed by the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that hit Cebu Province in September 2025 received aid from the provincial government on June 3, 2026.
The provincial government distributed P32.15 million in assistance to 3,215 residents of the city. Each beneficiary received P10,000 in cash assistance and 10 kilograms of rice.
Governor Pamela Baricuatro, who led the distribution, thanked the provincial board members for helping pass the trust fund used for the cash assistance. She also encouraged donors from the province, neighboring areas, and local and international donors to direct their aid to local government units heavily affected by the disaster to speed up recovery efforts in each area.
In addition to cash assistance, the Provincial Agriculture Office included agricultural and fishery livelihood recovery programs for affected residents. Beneficiaries also received 1,000 packs of assorted vegetable seeds, 500 grafted calamansi seedlings, 50 bags of fertilizer for mango rehabilitation, 50 bags of special hybrid yellow corn seeds, and 20 rolls of Amazon nets or screens for fish pots.
The Provincial Veterinary Office also distributed 10 carabaos and 10 goats to the Bogo City Veterinary Office, which are scheduled to be given to selected farmers in the city.
