Sumalde appealed to the public not to treat posting threats on social media as a joke, as it causes fear. He advised those with problems to approach the nearest police station for immediate assistance.

Immediate Response and Campus Inspection

After the Carbon Police Station 5 received a report of the threat, the CCPO immediately deployed personnel in coordination with the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit, SWAT Team, Tactical Motorcycle Riding Unit (TMRU), Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CCDRRMO), and Barangay Public Safety Officers.

An inspection and security assessment of the entire campus was launched to check for suspicious items such as bombs. After confirming that no suspicious objects or individuals were found inside CEC, classes continued as normal.
