A 30-year-old Filipino man sustained a foot injury after being struck by a missile impact in Arad town, Israel, part of an alleged attack from Iran, according to the Philippine Embassy. He was immediately transported to Soroka Medical Center and is expected to be discharged from the hospital following treatment for his wound.
Embassy Response and Support Efforts
The embassy reported that its rapid reaction team visited the injured Filipino and other compatriots in Arad and Dimona, where several apartments were partially damaged. They distributed food packs and offered assistance to those affected by the incident.
Some Filipinos have been temporarily relocated to alternative accommodations, while others are staying in a hotel near the Dead Sea as a precautionary measure. The embassy continues to monitor the condition of the injured overseas Filipino worker and will provide psychosocial support to all affected individuals to help them cope with the trauma.
This incident highlights the ongoing risks faced by overseas workers in conflict zones and underscores the importance of embassy-led support systems during emergencies. The Philippine government remains vigilant in ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens abroad, particularly in volatile regions.
